Job summary

CVS Vets 24/7 Chester is seeking a Night Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to help put pets first. You'll support RVNs and Vets, nursing care, animal restraint, feeding, cleaning, and emergency prep in a busy practice.

This role offers five nights on and ten nights off, with shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, and pay aligned with the National Minimum Wage. You'll join a large CVS Vets network focused on compassionate animal care.

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to our patients

Role Details:

Location: Units E&F, Telford Court, Gates Lane, Chestergates Road, Chester, CH1 6LT

Contract: Annualised

Hours: Working 5 nights on and 10 nights off with shifts of 07.00 – 19.00

Salary: Will be paid at the NMW

About the role:

The Patient Care Assistant position is crucial in any veterinary practice. You'll support our skilled RVN's and Vets in providing exceptional care to our animal patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing nursing care to our patients
• Assisting Vets and Nurses with animal restraint

Who We're Looking For:

• Skilled in customer service and public interaction
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
• Experienced in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, and handling – this is essential!
• Resilient and capable of handling emotional situations
• Positive and a team player
• Preferably have experience in a veterinary environment
