Job summary

CVS Vets Bolton is seeking a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join Regan Veterinary Centre. You will support RVNs and Vets, provide nursing care, handle animals, and help with reception tasks.

The role is full-time, permanent, 37 hours per week, with a varied shift pattern Monday to Friday plus Saturday rota. We offer National Minimum Wage, five weeks' annual leave (pro rata) per annum with bank holidays, staff discounts on veterinary bills and Animed Direct, an Employee Assistance

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to our patients.
• Assisting Vets and Nurses with animal restraint.
• Walking, feeding, and cleaning patients.
• Preparing emergency and operating facilities.
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance.
• Running internal lab samples.
• Answering emergency calls.
• Supporting the reception team, including booking appointments and processing payments.

37 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Friday on a varied shift pattern between 08.00 - 19.00, with a share in the Saturday 08.30 - 17.30 rota

Salary

Will be paid at the National Minimum Wage

• Experienced in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, and handling - this is essential!
• Resilient and capable of handling emotional situations
• Positive and a team player
• Preferably have experience in a veterinary environment
