Job summary

CVS Vets at Highcroft Veterinary Hospital in Whitchurch, Bristol, is seeking a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant. You will support our RVNs and Vets, provide nursing care, handle animals, and help with emergencies to ensure the best possible care for animal patients.

The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) with a weekend rota. Benefits include leave, staff discounts, and wellbeing support as part of CVS Vets’ commitment to its team. Right to Work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to our patients
• Assisting Vets and Nurses with animal restraint
• Walking, feeding, and cleaning patients
• Preparing emergency and operating facilities
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance

• Answering emergency calls

Role Details:

Location: 615 Wells Road, Whitchurch, Bristol, BS14 9BE

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday on a varied shift pattern, including a share in the Weekend rota

Salary: Will be paid at the National Minimum Wage

About the role:

The Patient Care Assistant position is crucial in any veterinary practice. You'll support our skilled RVN's and Vets in providing exceptional care to our animal patients.

• Experienced in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, and handling – this is essential!
• Resilient and capable of handling emotional situations
• Positive and a team player
• Preferably have experience in a veterinary environment
