Job summary

Pollock Scotrans Ltd in Bathgate is seeking a Transport Operator to manage daily transport administration and coordinate the day-to-day running of the busy contract. You will work with customers and drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to compliance standards.

The role involves using IT systems, data entry, and regular liaison with internal and external teams. Training and support are provided to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics/transport roles.
• Knowledge of legal compliance, drivers hours and working time directives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Able to work in a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations with customers and drivers to ensure smooth transport.
• Prepare daily service reports and manage data entries.
• Handle customer queries by email, phone, and in person.
• Use Traffic Management System and other IT systems for orders and updates.
• Monitor KPI for on-time deliveries, shift revenue and vehicle utilisation.
• Brief and de-brief drivers; ensure vehicle checks and defects are recorded.
• Liaise with fleet team to rectify defects promptly.
• Ensure contracted work meets customer expectations and policies.
