Job summary

Pollock Scotrans Ltd in Bathgate is seeking a skilled HGV Technician. You will maintain vehicles to high standards, prepare for MOT, and ensure accurate paperwork while working a 42.5 hour week with a £20 per hour rate.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance (or equivalent) and a full UK driving licence. C/C&E licences are a plus; strong team skills and continuous improvement mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified up to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent, or proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar vehicle maintenance role.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• A proven background in commercial vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles to DVSA and Group standards.
• Prepare Group assets for MOT.
• Complete inspection, service and defect paperwork accurately and timely.
• Carry out high-quality repairs cost-effectively.
• Keep workshop equipment and tools clean and maintained.
• Assist central engineering to identify failure trends.
• Keep up to date with industry developments affecting workshop operations.
• Organised, methodical problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Attend manufacturer training courses as required.
• Take ownership of personal development and seek guidance from team leaders.
• Manage time efficiently and work proactively in the workshop.
• Collaborate with teammates to assist where needed.
