Job summary

Gist Limited is seeking a Night Transport Coordinator to join the Spalding Transport team on a permanent Night Shift. You’ll coordinate night operations, support drivers, and keep the transport office running smoothly.

This role sits alongside the Transport Shift Manager and requires strong leadership during the night period. The position involves overseeing dispatch, driver briefings, route monitoring and compliance, with hours 38 per week on nights from 18:00/20:00 to 04:00/06:00.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Experience as a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator or similar role.
• Ability to communicate with drivers, allocate work and make timely decisions.
• Supervisory or team leadership exposure and return-to-work conversations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate night transport operations; dispatch vehicles and drivers safely and on time.
• Serve as first point of contact for drivers; provide support and resolve issues.
• Brief and debrief drivers; communicate operational information accurately.
• Monitor live routes; respond to delays and support service recovery.
• Support the Shift Manager with day-to-day transport operations.
• Manage driver allocation and ensure resources are used efficiently.
• Support return-to-work conversations and day-to-day driver supervision.
• Maintain Operator Licence compliance and transport documentation.
• Handle payroll administration, Kronos exceptions, holiday admin and related tasks.
• Collaborate with Transport, Warehouse and Planning teams for seamless operations.
