Job summary

Gist Limited in Cumbernauld is seeking a Transport Coordinator to join the night operation during the busy Christmas peak. This full-time role supports drivers, monitors live transport and ensures on-time deliveries in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

You’ll work with the Transport Shift Manager, coordinate night dispatch, manage driver allocation and ensure compliance, payroll tasks and office duties to keep the transport office running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Experience in Transport Coordinator/Administrator/Planner role.
• Ability to communicate with drivers and make operational decisions.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent organisation and multitasking in a busy environment.
• Attention to detail and staying calm under pressure.
• Good IT skills; familiarity with Kronos or similar systems.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and Operator Licence requirements (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate night transport operations to dispatch vehicles and drivers safely.
• First point of contact for drivers, provide support and resolve issues.
• Brief and debrief drivers with accurate information.
• Monitor live routes and support service recovery.
• Support the Shift Manager with daily transport operations.
• Manage driver allocation and optimize resources.
• Support return-to-work conversations and driver supervision.
• Maintain Operator Licence compliance and transport documentation.
• Handle payroll administration, Kronos exceptions, and holidays.
• Collaborate with Transport, Warehouse and Planning teams.
