Job summary

Gist Limited in Cumbernauld is seeking a Transport Coordinator for permanent night shift. The role supports the transport operation, coordinating drivers, monitoring live activity and ensuring deliveries run safely and on schedule.

You will work with the Shift Manager to keep the transport office running smoothly during the night. The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, nights from 20:00 to 06:00, at 22 Lenziemill Road, Cumbernauld.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Previous experience as Transport Coordinator/Administrator/Planner or similar.
• Excellent communication with drivers and colleagues, and sound decision-making.
• Supervisory or team-leading exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate night-time transport operations to dispatch vehicles and drivers safely and on time.
• Be the first point of contact for drivers, resolve issues, and escalate where needed.
• Brief and debrief drivers with accurate operational information.
• Monitor live routes during shift, manage delays and support service recovery.
• Support the Transport Shift Manager with day-to-day running.
• Allocate drivers/resources and optimise usage across the shift.
• Contribute to return-to-work conversations and driver supervision.
• Maintain compliance with Operator Licence and transport documentation.
• Complete payroll/Kronos exceptions and other transport office tasks.
