Job summary

XPO is seeking a Night Transport Coordinator at our Worksop site to plan and dispatch routes under a key distribution contract. You will ensure timely deliveries, manage live changes to plans, and maintain high accuracy in all admin traffic duties.

The role requires knowledge of driver hours regulations, UK geography, and safety standards. A proactive approach to cost control and collaboration with line management is essential for success on this night-shift position.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of driver hours regulations.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
• Financial understanding relevant to transport planning.
• Operational understanding of team roles within transport operations.

Responsibilities

• To cost effectively plan and dispatch routes to achieve contractual delivery times, conducting remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan.
• To review the cost effectiveness of routes through KPI analysis, taking remedial action where necessary.
• To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
• To liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / sub-contractors minimising the cost impact to the business.
• To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management.
• To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets.
