Job summary

St Mungo’s is seeking a Night Worker to provide support, discussion and continuity of care during the night, creating a safe and caring atmosphere for residents. This part-time role is suitable for someone who can stay awake, respond calmly to emergencies, and follow established procedures.

You will work 2 nights per week, engage with residents, complete admin tasks and handover notes, attend training, and be comfortable operating in a homelessness charity environment.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills essential for engaging with residents and team members.
• Empathy and the ability to relate to people with mental health needs is required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to work night shifts and stay alert in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, discussion and continuity of care during the night.
• Respond to emergencies and check the building hourly while maintaining a calming, safe atmosphere.
• Complete admin tasks, incident reports and handover notes.
• Attend team meetings and training to build skills and knowledge.
