Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Night Support Officer to care for young people in our homes, working waking nights on a 4-on/4-off pattern. The role focuses on supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs, building trust and facilitating positive routines.

The package includes a base salary (£30,849–£33,896 with attendance), an Attendance Allowance, a 4-week induction, generous holiday entitlement, development opportunities, and a flexible benefits package.

Qualifications

• A can-do attitude and team player
• Genuine care and empathy for young people
• Resilience to handle challenging situations
• Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) encouraged
• Support for study if needed

Responsibilities

• Oversee the home and care for the young people during the night
• Build rapport and be a trusted presence in times of need
• Complete paperwork, cleaning and laundry tasks as required
• Support daily routines and contribute to a positive, stable environment
• Participate in the Care Academy and induction training
