Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs lead meaningful lives in their community. You’ll provide care and encouragement, supporting personal goals while ensuring safety and wellbeing.

Roles offer flexible hours with full and part-time options, access to ongoing training, staff discounts, and mileage reimbursement in local settings. No formal experience required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 Diploma or above in Health & Social Care
• Good understanding of working with individuals with a learning disability and autism
• Commitment to providing quality care and support
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion and a motivational attitude at all times
• A responsible, dedicated and flexible approach to work
• Competent IT knowledge and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Encouraging – promote independence where possible & encourage service users to achieve personal goals
• Supportive – provide support to ensure the safety & wellbeing of people relying on our services
• Compassionate – communicate well with service users using their chosen methods to support individuality
• Observant – monitor & report any changes in health or circumstances of a service user to management
• Engaging – support service users to engage in the local community from going shopping to attending events
