Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd is seeking a Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health lead meaningful lives in their community. You will be part of the Swanton Community Services Team, delivering person-centred care with compassion and patience.

No prior experience or qualifications are required; comprehensive training is provided through our Training Academy, and we offer flexible hours, mileage, discounts and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 Diploma or above in Health & Social Care
• Good understanding of working with individuals with a learning disability and autism
• Commitment to providing quality care and support
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion and a motivational attitude at all times
• A responsible, dedicated and flexible approach to work
• Competent IT knowledge and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Encouraging – promote independence where possible & encourage service users to achieve personal goals
• Supportive – provide support to ensure the safety & wellbeing of people relying on our services
• Compassionate – communicate well with service users using their chosen methods to support individuality
• Observant – monitor & report any changes in health or circumstances of a service user to management
• Engaging – support service users to engage in the local community from going shopping to attending events
