Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd in England is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health to live fulfilling lives in their communities.

You’ll be part of the Swanton Community Services Team, providing compassionate, person-centred support, encouraging independence, monitoring wellbeing, and helping with everyday activities from shopping to attending events.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 Diploma or above in Health & Social Care.
• Good understanding of working with individuals with a learning disability and autism.
• Commitment to providing quality care and support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, compassion and a motivational attitude at all times.
• A responsible, dedicated and flexible approach to work.
• Competent IT knowledge and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Encourage independence and help service users to achieve personal goals.
• Provide daily support to ensure safety and wellbeing of people relying on our services.
• Communicate effectively with service users using their preferred methods to support individuality.
• Monitor and report any changes in health or circumstances to management.
• Help service users engage with the local community, from shopping to events.
