Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a friendly and motivated Support Worker to join the Swanton Community Services Team. You will help people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health to live meaningfully in their local community.

You'll support with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure safety and wellbeing. No previous experience required as full training is provided, with opportunities to develop through our Training Academy.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 Diploma or above in Health & Social Care.
• Good understanding of working with individuals with a learning disability and autism.
• Commitment to providing quality care and support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, compassion and a motivational attitude at all times.
• A responsible, dedicated and flexible approach to work.
• Competent IT knowledge and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Encourage independence for service users and help them achieve personal goals.
• Provide support to ensure safety and wellbeing of service users.
• Communicate with service users in their preferred methods to support individuality.
• Monitor and report any changes in health or circumstances to management.
• Help service users engage with the local community, from shopping to events.
