Job description

Bank Night Support Worker

Location: Appletrees, Grantham, Lincolnshire

Rate of Pay: £13.10 per hour, Weekend enhancements available

Hours of work: Bank / Flexible hours available

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bank contracts are flexible with no guaranteed hours, allowing you to work around other commitments. This is an excellent option for gaining experience in the care sector without a permanent commitment or for those partially retired.

Are you an experienced Support Worker with a preference for working nights? Our Support Workers make a real difference to our residents every day. Your professionalism, kindness, and compassion will be at the core of everything you do. You’ll be responsible for keeping a wakeful watch on the security and safety of our residents and the home, supporting residents with their personal care needs, and providing companionship. You’ll also carry out light household duties to ensure that the household and residents' rooms are kept clean and tidy, involving residents where appropriate. While some shifts may be challenging, you’ll also share laughter and create lasting memories with our residents.

In joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family, working alongside passionate team members dedicated to providing care, warmth, and kindness.

Appletrees is a 64-bed Care Home situated in Grantham, offering compassionate residential, intermediate, dementia, and respite care in a comfortable, homely setting.

AND IN RETURN

The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and are currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. We reinvest every penny into our residents, colleagues, and care homes. Therefore, we offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits:

  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Higher rates of pay at weekends
  • A workplace pension
  • Free uniform
  • Free DBS
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Refer a Friend scheme rewarding you up to £1000 for every recommendation
  • Care Worker Charity membership for well-being and financial aid
  • Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme for discounts

All candidates will be required to have an enhanced DBS which is on the update service. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.

ABOUT YOU

Ideally, you’ll have or be working towards a Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, with previous experience in elderly care and a commitment to providing high-quality care standards for older people.

You should be good at communicating, compassionate, and enjoy working as part of a team. You’ll be keen to learn and excel in your job, and we’ll provide the support you need to start your career with us in a nurturing, engaging, and rewarding environment.

If you think you have the right skills and attitude to deliver the highest quality of care for our residents as a Night Support Worker, apply and get your career started with us today.

We reserve the right to close this role before the closing date, with no advance notice. We encourage you to complete an application as soon as possible if interested.
