The Organisation
A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups across the UK, including victims of domestic violence, ex-offenders, young people, individuals with mental health difficulties, and those struggling with substance misuse. They are well-established, with over 20 years of experience in supported living.
The Opportunities
- Housing Support Workers will work full-time on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, from 22:00 to 08:15.
- Competitive pay rates; GBP19.54 (Umbrella) per hour, plus GBP0.45 per mile for travel between services.
- Contract length is initially 3 months, with potential extension or permanence.
- Based across Bristol.
- Flexible administration work location, with IT equipment provided.
The Responsibilities
- Visit properties regularly, conducting support sessions with service users.
- Assist clients with benefits claims, housing pathways, and signposting to local agencies.
- Support income management and tenancy sustainment.
- Manage properties, liaise with contractors, and assist with void properties.
- Provide emotional support and monitor well-being.
- Support ex-offenders with housing management, support sessions, inspections, meetings, and appointments.
- Develop support and safety plans, referring to specialists as needed.
- Ensure properties are maintained, furnished, and clean.
- Help residents understand responsibilities to retain accommodation.
- Empower clients to achieve their goals.
- Develop move-on plans with clients.
The Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and appropriate insurance.
- Experience supporting clients with complex needs.
- Proactive, able to manage caseloads independently.
- Knowledge of social/supportive housing processes.
- Support tenancy sustainment and income management.
- Enhanced DBS check (on update service); HMPPS clearance for adults.
The Desirables:
- Relevant training in housing or health and social care.
- Over 3 years of experience in healthcare or related fields.
- Understanding of housing law and frameworks for those with complex needs.
