Job summary

InPost UK, Gateshead, is seeking a Nights Warehouse Supervisor to lead the team on the night shift and drive operational efficiency. You will supervise daily warehouse activities, manage a dedicated team, ensure deadlines are met and maintain safety standards.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you’ll plan rosters, monitor productivity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high service levels while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced Warehouse, Distribution or Logistics environment.
• A valid Forklift Licence is required.
• Experience in a supervisory role, successfully motivating and managing teams to achieve performance targets.
• Effective communication skills to give clear direction to your team under pressure, manage difficult conversations and work collaboratively across teams and departments.
• A calm and focused approach to prioritizing daily tasks, thriving under pressure while maintaining high-standards of performance.
• Problem-solving skills with practical, common-sense decision-making for quick resolution of issues.
• Proficient IT skills, comfortable with Outlook, Word, Excel; experience with warehouse management systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to meet productivity targets and deadlines.
• Forecast staffing needs and manage rotas and annual leave planning.
• Ensure labeling, sortation and productivity targets are met with quality standards.
• Induct new staff and provide training to staff and contractors.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and uphold safety standards.
• Follow company policies and health & safety training.
