Job summary

Recycling Lives Services is seeking a Deputy Group Shift Leader for the Night Shift at Isabella Road, Workington. You will support the Group Shift Leader in coordinating safe, efficient warehouse operations during 19:00–07:00, Mon-Thu, and help supervise Warehouse Operatives to meet targets and maintain high standards.

The role focuses on safety, accuracy, and teamwork, with a competitive hourly rate (£14.31) plus a weekly shift allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations and leading shift teams.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and quality procedures.
• Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and support colleagues.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming materials.
• Carry out quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials.
• Ensure materials are correctly identified, labelled, and stored.
• Prepare and load materials for dispatch safely and accurately.
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (where authorised).
• Maintain accurate stock locations and report discrepancies.
• Keep the yard clean, organised, and free from hazards.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and report defects.
• Identify and report damaged materials, quality concerns, and non-conformances.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and transport teams to maintain workflow.
• Complete operational records and documentation accurately.
