Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Programmer Setter Operator (Turning).
• Strong Mazak Mazatrol knowledge and online programming at the machine.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and using inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and run Mazak CNC turning centres to customer specs.
• Edit, prove out and optimise programmes at the machine.
• Produce first-off and in-process inspections.
• Work from detailed engineering drawings.
• Machining components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Use micrometers, verniers and gauges for inspection.
• Identify improvements to cycle times and processes.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Meet production targets and quality requirements.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer Setter Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating Mazak CNC turning centres to manufacture precision-engineered components to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol controls
• Editing, proving out and optimising programmes at the machine
• Producing first-off and in-process inspections
• Working from detailed engineering drawings
• Manufacturing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
• Using a range of inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
• Identifying opportunities to improve cycle times and machining processes
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area
• Ensuring production targets and quality requirements are achieved

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a CNC Programmer Setter Operator (Turning)
• Strong knowledge of Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls
• Ability to programme online at the machine
• Experience working within a precision engineering environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent with measuring and inspection equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Apprentice-trained engineers are encouraged to apply
