Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is seeking a skilled CNC Turner for a permanent nightshift in Ferndown. You will programme, set and operate Mazak turning centres, producing precision components to tight tolerances using Mazatrol and ISO G-code.

The role offers a 4-day week, 8:30pm–7:00am, with 5S housekeeping and a death-in-service benefit. You’ll run Mazak Quick Turn/Nexus/Smooth/Integrex with a strong focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of CNC turning experience with Mazak machines.
• Strong knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Smooth controls, plus ISO G-code editing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Understanding of speeds, feeds and tool geometry across materials.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Programme Mazak lathes using Mazatrol and ISO G-code.
• Set and prove out jobs on Mazak Quick Turn, Nexus, Smooth or Integrex machines.
• Run CNC turning operations to produce precision components within tight tolerances.
• Perform first off and in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S standards.

As a CNC Turner (Nightshift):

• 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday
• Permanent night shift, 8:30pm to 7:00am
• Death in service benefit
