Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Turner for nightshift in Ferndown. You will program, set and operate Mazak turning centres, using Mazatrol and ISO G-code, to produce precision components to tight tolerances.

You’ll work a 4-day week on permanent nights (8:30pm–7:00am), benefit from 5S workplace standards and a death-in-service scheme, with opportunities to develop lean manufacturing skills and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC turning experience on Mazak lathes.
• Proficient with Mazatrol and ISO G-code editing.
• Ability to read GD&T from engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of cutting speeds, feeds and tool geometry.
• Experience operating and setting up Mazak turning centres.

Responsibilities

• Programme Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol and ISO G-code.
• Set and prove out jobs on Mazak Quick Turn, Nexus, Smooth or Integrex machines.
• Run CNC turning operations to produce precision components within tight tolerances.
• Perform first off and in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S standards.

CNC Turner (Nightshift) | Ferndown | £22ph

You know Mazak inside out, and you take real pride in getting a first off right before it ever reaches inspection.

This is a role where your programming and setting skills are relied on from the moment you clock in.

As a CNC Turner (Nightshift):

• 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday
• Permanent night shift, 8:30pm to 7:00am
• Death in service benefit

• Programme Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol and ISO G-code
• Set and prove out jobs on Mazak Quick Turn, Nexus, Smooth or Integrex machines
• Run CNC turning operations to produce precision components within tight tolerances
• Perform first off and in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers and gauges
• Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S standards

• 3-5+ years' CNC turning experience, with proven ability to programme, set and operate Mazak machines
• Strong knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Smooth controls, plus ISO G-code editing
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T
• Understanding of cutting speeds, feeds and tool geometry across materials
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining quality standards
