Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Daventry (NN11) is seeking a motivated First Line Manager to lead operational teams on the Tyre Contract. You will supervise day-to-day performance, drive KPIs, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The role requires strong people leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on involvement with shift patterns (Sunday-Thursday, night shift). You’ll develop staff, conduct appraisals, and ensure training records are up to date.

Qualifications

• Previous people management experience (First Line Manager/Shift Manager/Team Leader) is essential.
• Experience within the Tyre industry would be desirable.
• Holds a valid MHE License (Forklift - Counterbalance/Reach) would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• IT literate - WMS and Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day performance, including achievement of agreed customer KPIs and other internal KPIs (eg. safety, operational, employee related etc)
• Ensuring staff are trained to the correct standard to perform duties as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP`s) whilst maintaining records so that training needs are observed and actioned
• Deliver team member performance reviews (1-2-1's), development and/or succession planning, providing coaching as appropriate
• Support and contribute towards briefing activities such as performance management appraisals, comms zone briefs, PD boards, disciplinaries and grievances, investigations, informal / formal conversations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures
• Handle operational issues, escalations, and incident resolution
• To support and get involved with day to day operations needs, such as manual handling of tyres
