Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated Refuelling Operative at Bounds Green Train Maintenance Centre, London. You will service trains and replenish diesel, AdBlue, toilet systems, and fresh water, while supporting the maintenance team on a rotating night shift. You’ll record activities in MMS and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires strict adherence to safety practices, effective communication, and teamwork in a busy operational environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering/maintenance experience in rail or similar environment.
• Awareness of safe working practices including COSHH and manual handling.
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and replenishment of trains, including diesel, AdBlue and water.
• Record servicing in the maintenance management system (MMS).
• Support maintenance staff with corrective and preventative tasks.
• Daily checks of service spine equipment and keep area tidy.
