Job summary

HRGO Recruitment are representing a metal processing and recycling company in Doncaster seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor. The role oversees a team of 3 operatives for the 6pm–6am night shift on a 4-on 4-off pattern, with a £2 night premium and £16–£20 per hour pay.

Responsibilities include supervising production, monitoring targets, and maintaining HSE standards while coordinating with maintenance and site management to ensure smooth operations.

Night Shift Production Supervisor - Doncaster - 4 on 4 off

HRGO Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established metal processing and recycling company for an experienced Night Shift Production Supervisor to join their operational team in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supervisor with a strong background in manufacturing, processing or plant operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 3 operatives during the night shift, overseeing production, site activities, health and safety and performance standards. The role will also involve working closely with the Site Manager, Maintenance Team and other Supervisors to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the site.

• £16.00 - £20.00 per hour depending on experience and ability
• Additional £2.00 per hour night premium

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise a team of 3 operatives
• Oversee daily site production and operational activities
• Monitor production targets, including quantity and quality
• Complete production and batch reporting
• Ensure all required pre-use checks are completed
• Monitor performance levels and ensure required standards are maintained
• Monitor, control and optimise site activities
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site security
• Ensure all operatives follow required HSE and PPE standards
• Ensure compliance with ISO and management system requirements
• Ensure all operatives complete relevant SSOW, Risk Assessments and COSHH requirements
• Complete accurate shift reports
• Monitor and maintain PPM requirements
• Carry out repairs and maintenance where possible
• Liaise with the Maintenance Team as required
• Report hazards, accidents and near misses to the Line Manager / H&S Manager
• Manage contractor permits and monitor works through to completion
• Report operational concerns to the Site Manager
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management and directors
• Coordinate with the Site Manager, WB & FoH Supervisor and Maintenance Team
• Complete daily handovers with the relevant Supervisor
• Provide feedback to the Site Manager and contribute to continuous improvement

About You:

• Proven experience working as a Supervisor or in a similar leadership role - essential
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, processing or metal recycling environment
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to problem solve and make decisions
• Previous mobile plant experience is highly advantageous
• Experience operating FLT, loading shovel and grab is desirable
• High standard of written and verbal English
• Computer literate and competent using emailConfident managing a small team and working independently
• Strong understanding of health, safety and operational standards
• Reliable and able to work a rolling 4 on 4 off night shift pattern
