Metalwork Supervisor

Location: Harlow, Essex

Shift: Permanent Nights

Are you an experienced Metalwork Supervisor with a background in fabrication, sheet metal or metal-forming operations?

We are recruiting for a hands-on Metalwork Supervisor to lead a night-shift production team within a busy manufacturing environment in Harlow.

This is a practical leadership role for someone who understands the demands of metalwork production and can organise people, maintain quality standards and keep production moving safely and efficiently.

The Role

As Metalwork Supervisor, you will take responsibility for overseeing the night-shift metalwork team and ensuring production priorities are completed to the required quality, safety and output standards.

Your duties will include:

• Supervising the night-shift metalwork and fabrication team
• Allocating work and managing daily production priorities
• Monitoring output, productivity and quality
• Supporting press brake, sheet-metal and fabrication operations
• Ensuring components are produced to engineering drawings and specifications
• Supporting operators where technical or production problems arise
• Monitoring machine, tooling and equipment requirements
• Working with maintenance teams to resolve machinery issues
• Supporting the training and development of team members
• Monitoring team performance and production progressReporting outstanding actions and operational issues
• Ensuring good housekeeping standards across the production area

The successful Metalwork Supervisor will be expected to remain visible and hands-on within the production environment, supporting the team while ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this Metalwork Supervisor position, you should have:

• Previous supervisory or Team Leader experience within manufacturing
• A strong fabrication, sheet-metal or metalwork background
• Good understanding of press brake and metal-forming operations
• Strong people-management and leadership skills
• The confidence to manage production priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A Health & Safety focused approach
• The ability to identify and address production issues quickly

Experience working within a busy engineering, fabrication or sheet-metal manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant.

The Candidate

This role would suit an experienced Metalwork Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, Sheet Metal Supervisor, Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Team Leader looking to take greater ownership of a night-shift production team.

You should be comfortable balancing people management with practical production requirements and be confident making decisions when issues arise during the shift.

Shift

This is a permanent night-shift position, so applicants must be comfortable working nights on an ongoing basis.

Location

The role is based in Harlow, Essex and may suit candidates travelling from Harlow, Epping, Bishop's Stortford, Ware, Hertford, Sawbridgeworth, Waltham Abbey, Cheshunt and surrounding areas.
