Job summary

BioTalent is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support production and packaging in a pharmaceutical environment. Responsibilities include planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.

This role operates on night shifts from Monday to Thursday, with an enhanced salary structure to reflect the shift premium.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance engineering within manufacturing, preferably pharma or regulated sectors.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities are required.
• Qualification: Engineering apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
• Knowledge of GMP, health & safety and engineering compliance traditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot faults, carry out repairs and assist with equipment installation and commissioning.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams for efficient operations.
• Provide effective shift handovers and mentor colleagues as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and deliver high internal customer service.
• Adhere to GMP, EHS, PUWER, lockout/tagout and manual handling procedures.
