Job summary

FedEx is seeking an Operations Maintenance Technician to join the Marston Gate station. You will repair and service plant and equipment per preventative maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime on sortation equipment and ensuring safe, efficient operation.

The role requires an organized, self-motivated individual with electrical/mechanical qualifications, PLC knowledge, and a robust safety mindset. Night shifts are included with a night allowance.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a self-motivated, organized approach and strong communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical regulations and safety practices is required.
• Experience reading electrical schematic drawings and understanding PLC systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Organise team maintenance and equipment to keep operation safe and efficient within deadlines.
• Monitor attendance and take remedial action as needed.
• Supervise maintenance performance and ensure documentation is completed.
• Identify problems and coordinate corrective actions with the team and management.
• Coordinate with Depot and Operations Managers to resolve issues and inquiries.
• Ensure smooth traffic transitions across machinery with health and safety in mind.
• Record information sheets nightly and maintain operations manuals adherence.
• Ensure equipment is returned to designated areas and reported if defective.
