Job summary

FedEx is seeking a qualified Operations Maintenance Technician at Marston Gate to repair and service plant and equipment per the preventative maintenance schedule, minimising downtime of sortation equipment.

The role requires strong organisation and communication skills, shift pattern flexibility, and a driving licence. You will lead a maintenance team, monitor performance and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across operations.

Qualifications

Knowledge of 16th or 17th Edition electrical regulations.
Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance background.
Ability to read electrical schematic drawings.
Understanding of PLC controlled equipment.
Flexible approach to shift patterns.
Understanding of health and safety legislation.
Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

Organise team maintenance and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Monitor staff attendance and take remedial action where necessary.
Monitor the performance of the maintenance team through supervision and documentation.
Monitor workflow and escalate issues as needed.
Coordinate with Depot and Operations Managers to resolve difficulties.
Ensure smooth transition of traffic across the machinery with safety in mind.
Complete nightly information recording sheets.
Adhere to Operations Manual procedures to maintain service levels.
