Job summary

Great Bear at Sherburn is seeking an Operations Controller for the Sherburn site on a full-time permanent basis. Working hours are 3 on 3 off nights, 6pm–6am. Salary is £29,183 per annum, plus £2,000 night allowance to reflect our focus on reliable distribution operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics role.
• Ability to prioritise tasks based on scheduling and available resources.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook with high attention to detail.
• Team player who can work on own initiative.
• Good knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication with customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage outbound schedule to meet delivery times.
• Instruct staff to maintain smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Handle paperwork for outbound vehicles with 100% accuracy.
• Be the first contact for drivers on site.
• Notify Shift Managers of issues promptly to minimise disruption.
• Contribute to the team by suggesting efficiency improvements.
• Maintain communication with transport providers to avoid delays.
• Provide thorough handovers to the next shift.
