Job summary

Procter & Gamble in the United Kingdom seeks experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to operate from West Thurrock Operating Centre, supporting freight deliveries to customers and other P&G sites across the UK. The role spans a 24-hour operation with a 4 on 4 off pattern, typically 8–12 hour shifts, averaging around 40 hours per week.

Shifts include night hours with start times 16:00–03:00; base pay (£16.80/h), market premium (£3.00/h), and unsociable hour premium (£4.00/h) plus overtime multipliers.

Qualifications

• A current HGV Class 1 license and valid Driver CPC.
• 2 years experience commercially driving Class 1 HGV.
• Experience in palletized goods distribution.
• No more than 6 points on driving licence and no DD/DR endorsements.
• Preferably: references from previous employers.

Responsibilities

• Delivering P&G products to customers within the UK.
• Equipment: curtain side drop trailer; unloading at certain customers may be required.
• Pick up loaded trailer at P&G Plant, check trailer and secure load, deliver to customer, wait for unloading, return to P&G Plant.
• Possible shuttling between P&G Distribution Centres in the UK.
• Typical routine: pick up skeleton trailer, deliver to port, lift on/off container, deliver back to P&G Plant.
