Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an Estates Maintenance Assistant (Nights) to join the team responsible for comprehensive healthcare building maintenance across wards and departments in a multidisciplinary setting. The role involves night shifts, acting as a first responder for out-of-hours tasks, and carrying out pre-planned maintenance on systems, plant and maintenance areas.

You will report to the Estates Supervisor and Estates maintenance managers and perform routine

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to a high standard.
• Work under the Estates Supervisor and Estates Maintenance Managers on a day-to-day basis.
• Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repairs within training/experience.
• Assist other trades as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Use relevant tools and equipment and handle fine tools as required.
• Maintain workshops, stores, switch-rooms, boiler-house, plant-rooms and surrounding areas to a tidy standard.
• Comply with all statutory regulations including Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Be able to work overtime at short notice when required by the Trust.
