Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Maintenance Assistant (Nights) to join the Estates team. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across hospital facilities, act as a first responder for out-of-hours tasks, and work under the Estates Supervisor.

You will assist other trades, follow SOPs, and maintain safe, clean plant rooms and workshops. The role requires willingness to work nights and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced in building maintenance or engineering.
• Basic understanding of workshop safety practices.
• Ability to train and learn new techniques.
• Qualification in building construction or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher skill grades on new work and repairs.
• Demonstrate basic workshop safety knowledge.
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks and inspections.
• Train as needed to keep skills up to date.
• Use CAFM system to record time, materials, inspections and defects.
