Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Emergency Department clinician at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This night-shift role requires basic EMT or paramedic licensure, BLS, and IV certification, with duties spanning vital signs, specimen collection, patient movement, ED admissions, and chart management.

Work involves coordinating with RNs and Physicians, providing lifesaving care, and upholding infection prevention standards within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Basic EMT or Paramedic license in state of Colorado.
• EMTs working in an Emergency Department in the state of Colorado, national certification or state EMT license is acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) Certification for Healthcare Providers upon hire.
• IV certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and inform care team of changes.
• Collect blood, urine, saliva and stool samples for labs.
• Insert Foley catheters and perform basic wound care and casts.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and assist doctors during procedures.
• Assist with safe movement and patient handling.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge instructions.
• Apply and check restraints as directed by RN/Physician.
• Maintain patient charts and respond to calls as unit secretary.
• Adhere to infection prevention standards.
