Job summary

Superdrug’s Savers Stead House DC in Darlington is seeking an Operations Team Leader to oversee a night shift team on 22:00-06:00, with a 40-hour week. You will support the Shift Managers with daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and drive consistent performance across distribution activities to ensure stock availability for over 200 stores.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Ownership of people management within area of responsibility.
• Motivate, coach and develop team using training tools.
• Accountability for area KPIs and regular KPI communication.
• Review and develop processes to maximise efficiencies.
• Support Health & Safety and risk assessments for area.
• Deliver effective shift handovers to incoming team.
• Provide timely updates to the Shift Manager.
• Model a positive site culture and health practices.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and deputise as Shift Manager when needed.
• Conduct team briefings when required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of People Management issues for colleagues within area of responsibility.
• Motivate, coach & develop a team to perform duties effectively.
• Be accountable for nominated KPI’s and report status regularly.
• Review processes to maximise efficiencies within your area.
• Collaborate with Health & Safety to update safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Deliver seamless shift handovers to the oncoming team.
• Provide updates on daily progress and resolve concerns.
• Promote company values in daily operations.
• Act as ambassador for health & safety practices across the team.
• Support the shift manager with ad hoc projects and reports; deputise when required.
• Conduct team briefings as needed.
