Job summary

Superdrug is hiring a Team Leader for the Stead House Distribution Centre in Darlington. The role involves supporting the Shift Manager with daily coordination of site operations, leading a team, and ensuring efficiency in a fast-paced distribution environment.

You will own KPI metrics, drive process improvements, and uphold health and safety standards while collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent service to over 200 stores in the Savers network.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience within a distribution environment or similar.
• Excellent planning and project management skills.
• Excellent analytical and IT skills.
• Good understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies and cost management.
• Sound knowledge of warehouse management systems.
• Ability to communicate and engage effectively, with team and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all People Management issues for colleagues within area of responsibility, engaging with the shift manager and people team, ensuring fair and consistent approach to all company processes, policies and procedures.
• Motivate, coach & develop a team to enable them to carry out duties effectively using training tools.
• Full accountability for nominated KPI’s, reporting KPI status to the shift Manager.
• Review and develop processes to maximise efficiencies and liaise with Management for implementation.
• Collaborate with Health & Safety to update safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Deliver an effective shift handover to the oncoming team.
• Provide timely updates on progress and resolve areas of concern.
• Model a site culture aligned with company values and promote health & safety practices.
• Assist shift manager and colleagues with ad hoc projects and reports; deputise as Shift Manager when required.
• Conduct team briefings and collaborate with Team Leaders, Shift Managers and colleagues to support performance.
