Job summary

Boughey Distribution is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the warehousing team and drive first-class service. You will oversee day-to-day operations, manage 4 on 4 off shifts (6pm–6am) and ensure accurate receiving, storing and dispatching of goods within SAP-based processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
• Knowledge of health and safety principles; IOSH beneficial.
• Computer literacy with warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide Warehouse Operatives to meet daily targets safely.
• Ensure receiving, dispatching and quality control meet standards.
• Organise inventory and storage, address discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Maintain records for smooth handovers between shifts.
• Identify improvement opportunities in collaboration with H&S,Quality & ESG, CI.
• Lead and motivate the team, encouraging idea sharing and engagement.
• Support investigations, disciplinary hearings and welfare meetings.
• Utilise productivity data to review performance and rewards.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policy and raise improvements.

Day to Day

• Coordinate and guide Warehouse Operatives to achieve the daily warehousing targets and KPIs set in a safe and efficient manner
• Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, dispatching, and assuring quality goods – promoting SAP system processes and handling colleague non- compliance appropriately
• Organise and maintain inventory and storage areas, ensure shipments and inventory transaction accuracy – dealing with any discrepancies ensuring corrective action is taken
• Maintain all record keeping and document necessary information for a clear handover to the management on the following shift
• Pro-actively identify improvement opportunities liaising with H&S, Quality & ESG, Continuous Improvement and Warehouse Management
• Lead and motivate the team, contribute to an atmosphere in which employees are encouraged to volunteer ideas and are engaged in what the company needs to achieve
• Support investigations, disciplinary hearings & welfare meetings where appropriate
• To utilise employee productivity and performance data to review accordingly, identifying opportunities for reward and recognition to the management team
• To be aware of and adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy, taking responsibility for the health, safety, environmental and welfare of yourself and others in your departments, as well as informing the Co-Packing Manager if any improvements need to be made

What will you bring?

• Experience within a supervisory role within a warehouse environment
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety principles, IOSH would be advantageous
• Computer literate with experience of working with warehouse management systems; SAP, Microlise, Contrado, Capture IT would be advantageous
• Proven leadership and effective communication skills with the ability to direct, coordinate and motivate with strong organisational skills
• Initiative-taking with an eye for problem solving and continuous improvement
