Job summary

First Group is seeking an Auto Electrician to join their team at Caledonia Depot in Glasgow. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in buses, ensuring compliance with safety legislation. The position offers a competitive rate of £22.91 per hour, with a complete benefits package including up to 5 weeks holiday, free bus pass, and health support.

Eligible candidates should have at least an NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair and a valid UK driving licence. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the UK's leading bus operators.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred.
• Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment and electrically biased.
• Valid UK driving licence; ability to obtain PCV licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle electrical repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle electrical faults and specify the correct method of repair.
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary.
• Comply with all HSE legislation and Group Policies.
• Maintain and develop technical skills as required.
