Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a Metallic Machinist to join the shop floor during night shifts. You will mill parts for race cars and external customers to tight tolerances, with emphasis on low-volume, high-accuracy production.

You will set up and operate 5-axis CNCs, work with Fanuc/Siemens controls, and collaborate to solve first-off challenges while meeting demanding deadlines. Teamwork and attention to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• An recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in precision engineering.
• Extensive CNC machining expertise in low-volume, high-precision prototype environments.
• Ability to set, operate, and plan work across multiple 5-axis CNC machines.
• Knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens controlled machining centres is advantageous.
• Experience or familiarity with Hurco is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out machining operations as directed by Team Leader, hitting deadlines.
• Flag machining problems early to prevent delays.
• Collaborate with Toolpath Programming to resolve first-off issues and improve quality or runtime.
• Inspect first-off components to ensure correctness before running the batch.
• Record shop floor data accurately and hand over clearly between shifts.
