Job summary

Mossvale Care Home in Glasgow is recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care for residents. You will oversee shifts, organise care delivery, and monitor wellbeing, responding to changes as they arise.

You will maintain records, communicate with families and healthcare professionals, and uphold our compassionate, professional standards in a welcoming home environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 qualification.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Job description

Our care home is situated in the east end of Glasgow and is an impressive custom built facility, which provides care for up to 60-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
