Job summary

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for an Enhanced Security Officer (NHS AfC Band 3) on a permanent 24-hour night post. You will patrol, support clinical teams, and maintain a safe environment for patients, families and staff across the hospital.

Strong communication, teamwork and a calm approach are essential, with prior security or customer service experience preferred. Applicants should have GCSEs including English and Maths, and an SIA licence or recognised security

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• Security qualification and SIA licence holder preferred.
• Experience in customer service and hospital security is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence through patrols.
• Respond to incidents of violence or aggression and assist with safe removal if needed.
• Support staff and patients with physical and mental health needs on wards.
• Monitor and report security issues via CCTV and incident logs.
• Assist in emergency situations and coordinate with police and hospital staff.
• Perform duties such as litter removal, laundry, food delivery and waste handling.
