Job summary

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Enhanced Support Officer for the Security Team on a night post with two 12-hour shifts per week, rota-based. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, compassionate environment for patients, families and staff across hospital areas.

You will patrol, respond to incidents, support wards, monitor CCTV, and assist in emergencies, working in a teamwork-driven, respectful manner.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• Recognised security qualification and SIA licence are desirable.
• Experience in customer service environment is beneficial.
• Experience in hospital security settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence through regular patrols.
• Respond to incidents of violence or aggression, including safe restraint and removal if necessary.
• Support staff and patients with physical and mental health needs on wards.
• Monitor and report security issues through CCTV and incident logs.
• Support emergency situations and communicate with police and hospital staff.
• Perform duties such as litter removal, laundry and food delivery, and waste handling.
