Job summary

YMCA Bournemouth is seeking a Buildings Security Night Officer to safeguard YMCA premises, including hostel rooms, flats, off-site accommodation, public areas and offices during night hours. You will work within the Housing department as part of a rota to ensure safety and wellbeing across the site.

The role requires vigilance, clear communication with day staff, CCTV monitoring, adherence to health and safety procedures, and prompt response to incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience of working independently in a position of responsibility.
• Desirable: COSHH courses, health and safety training, health and social care courses, mental health courses, customer care training.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with day staff at the start and end of each shift.
• Monitor CCTV images as required.
• Know and carry out procedures regarding resident rules, health and safety, COSHH, fire and first aid.
• Handle emergency situations and record on a Serious Incident Form.
• Attend any part of the building to address incidents or assist colleagues.
