Job summary

Nottingham Community Housing Association Limited (NCHA) invites applications for a Night Porter at our Branching Out Young Person’s service in Newark. The role provides overnight support, ensures a safe environment, and helps the service run smoothly during the night.

You’ll respond to incidents, manage the site, and conduct safety checks while maintaining logs and handovers. Training is provided; the role suits someone calm, independent and committed to safeguarding young people.

Qualifications

• Compassion and resilience to support vulnerable young people.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors and staff.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and de-escalate situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular health and safety checks, including fire alarms and emergency lighting.
• Manage visitor and resident sign-in procedures and maintain records.
• Record repairs, incidents and risks and pass on clear handovers to colleagues.
