Job summary

Lucy Cavendish College is seeking a night porter to provide courteous, professional service to students, visitors, Fellows and staff. Duties include greeting visitors, handling telephone and mail delivery, setting up rooms for conferences and assisting with security and emergency response across on- and offsite buildings.

Shifts are 7pm–7am on a 4-on/4-off roster, with a 30-minute break. A full driving licence and a Basic DBS check are required; first aid is desirable.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• First aid qualification is desirable.
• Full driving licence required for offsite College van use.
• Basic DBS check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide telephone and mail delivery services.
• Set up rooms for conferences and assist with security, fire and emergency procedures.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and act on own initiative.
• Operate across on- and offsite buildings as needed.
