Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere, part of The Inn Collection Group, is preparing to open its doors and welcome guests with 55 bedrooms and a food-led operation in the heart of Grasmere.

We are seeking a Night Porter to join our award-winning team, delivering warm, attentive service overnight and helping ensure a safe, seamless experience from arrival to breakfast service, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hospitality across reception, bar and restaurant spaces.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking guests in and out at reception.
• Assist with inquiries at reception, bar or over the phone.
• Serve guests professionally in restaurant and bar areas.
• Help keep restaurant, lounge and facilities clean and tidy.
• Prepare the restaurant for breakfast service and set up buffet tables.
• Patrol premises to perform security checks and ensure a safe environment.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As a Night Porter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience throughout the night. If you’re friendly, approachable, and have excellent customer service skills, this could be the perfect fit for you! We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while staying organised.

Your responsibilities will include greeting and checking guests in and out, assisting with inquiries at reception, the bar, or over the phone, and serving guests professionally. You’ll also help keep the restaurant, lounge, and facilities clean and tidy, prepare the restaurant for breakfast service, and set up the buffet table. In addition, you’ll patrol the premises to perform security checks and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
