Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere, part of The Inn Collection Group, opens soon and is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to support a busy, food-led operation with 55 bedrooms and 196 internal covers. You will help maintain high hygiene standards, support kitchen teams, and contribute to creating exceptional guest experiences from day one.

Qualifications

• Prior hospitality experience is beneficial.
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills are essential.
• Eagerness to learn and deliver great service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene.
• Manage the wash-up area and kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist with basic food preparation as required.
• Work closely with the kitchen team and guests.
• Follow the cleaning schedule and perform general duties.

With 55 bedrooms, 196 internal covers and 148 external covers, this is a substantial, food-led operation with ambitious plans, located in the heart of Grasmere.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Kitchen Porter, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene. Your positive attitude, teamwork skills, and willingness to learn will be essential as you manage the wash-up area, ensure kitchen equipment cleanliness, and assist with basic food preparation.

You'll work closely with team members and customers, demonstrating confidence and courtesy in all interactions. This role requires flexibility and a commitment to personal presentation. You'll be responsible for keeping the kitchen running smoothly by following the cleaning schedule and taking on other general duties as directed.
