Job summary

The Ripon Inn in Ripon, England, is seeking a Night Porter to ensure a warm, seamless experience for guests during overnight hours. You’ll be friendly, organized, and capable of working independently, delivering excellent service at reception, bar, and phone, while maintaining the public areas and supporting breakfast preparations.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and stay organised during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and check them in and out at night.
• Assist with inquiries at reception, bar, or over the phone.
• Keep restaurant, lounge, and facilities clean and tidy; prep breakfast area.
• Set up buffet table and ensure a smooth start to breakfast service.
• Patrol premises for security checks and maintain a safe environment.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As a Night Porter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience throughout the night. If you’re friendly, approachable, and have excellent customer service skills, this could be the perfect fit for you! We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while staying organised.

Your responsibilities will include greeting and checking guests in and out, assisting with inquiries at reception, the bar, or over the phone, and serving guests professionally. You’ll also help keep the restaurant, lounge, and facilities clean and tidy, prepare the restaurant for breakfast service, and set up the buffet table. In addition, you’ll patrol the premises to perform security checks and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
