One of the UK's leading Five Red Star country house hotels, Palé Hall is a destination for luxury and culinary indulgence. Situated at the Snowdonia National Park, this historic Victorian mansion features eighteen bedrooms and suites, along with four charming garden suites within the estate grounds. With plans for significant investment and growth over the coming months, this is a really exciting place to be!

We are strengthening our Nights team with an additional Night Porter, working three shifts per week on a weekly rota basis. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager and Head of Concierge, this role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the building and our guests during night hours. Full training will be provided, with preference given to candidates with a security background. Reliability, vigilance, initiative, and the ability to react swiftly and effectively to issues are essential.

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to commute to the hotel during shifts from 10 pm to 7 am.

Job Description

1. Provide an alert and vigilant Front of House presence overnight with calm and discreet service.
2. Be fully familiar with the overnight house count of guests, staff, and visitors for evacuation purposes.
3. Take a detailed handover from the late receptionist and Duty Manager at the start of the shift, and communicate a handover to the early receptionist the following morning, including guest requirements and any issues or feedback.
4. Answer internal and external calls throughout the night via the main switchboard or mobile phone.
5. Welcome late-arriving guests, assist with luggage, valet parking, and ensure their comfort.
6. Fulfill Room Service orders from the night menu, understanding each dish and ingredient locations.
7. Conduct regular internal patrols, ensuring doors and windows are secure, noting maintenance needs, and suggesting procedural improvements.
8. Be familiar with fire alarm control panels, reading displays, locating detectors, and resetting alarms as needed.
9. Keep guest areas, especially lounges, tidy and welcoming, including clearing and polishing tables and fluffing cushions.
10. Close lounges after guests retire, switch off lights, dampen fires, and lock doors.
11. Perform cleaning duties as per the key tasks sheet.
12. Monitor open fires until fully extinguished, clean grates, and prepare fires for the morning.
13. Check empty bedrooms to ensure lights are off and windows are closed.
