Situated at the Snowdonia National Park, this historic Victorian mansion features eighteen bedrooms and suites, along with four charming garden suites within the estate grounds. We are strengthening our Nights team with an additional Night Porter to work three shifts per week on a weekly rota basis. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager and Head of Concierge, this is an important role in helping to ensure the safety and security of the building and our guests during the moonlight hours. Full training will be provided, and preference will be given to candidates with a security background. Reliability, vigilance, initiative, and the confidence to react swiftly and effectively to any issues are essential.

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be confident in commuting to the hotel within the shift hours of 10pm - 7am.

Job Description

1. Overnight Vigilance: Provide an alert and discreet Front of House presence overnight, maintaining a calm demeanor.
2. Guest and Staff Monitoring: Be familiar with the overnight house count for evacuation purposes.
3. Shift Handover: Receive detailed handover from the late receptionist and Duty Manager; communicate updates to the early receptionist, including guest requirements and any issues.
4. Communication: Answer internal and external calls via the main switchboard or mobile phone during the night.
5. Guest Reception: Welcome late-arriving guests, assist with luggage, valet parking, and ensure guest comfort.
6. Room Service: Fulfill orders from the night menu, familiar with dish components and ingredients.
7. Building Checks: Conduct regular patrols, ensure doors and windows are secured, note maintenance needs, and suggest procedural improvements.
8. Fire Safety: Be familiar with fire alarm panels, reading displays, locating detectors, and procedures for alarm management.
9. Guest Areas Maintenance: Keep lounges tidy, clear tables, and prepare lounges for the morning.
10. Fire Management: Monitor fires, ensure they are extinguished, and re-lay fires with fresh logs.
11. Room Checks: Verify that bedrooms are secure, lights are off, and windows are closed.
